  • Oct.14ᵗʰ,1945: “Honorable Discharge” from US Army; Nov.5ᵗʰ,1945: re-enlists with request for overseas posting to Belgium.
  • (Nov., Dec,1945/Jan.1946: future wife Netty requests “character reference and interview on Raymond from Catholic Parish Bronx, New York; reply, Dec.6ᵗʰ,1945: “He truly loves you much    since it is only because of you that he has re-enlisted in the army”.
